silvertip fly rod combo
brunsell "li'l streamer"
Bob Brunsell is an unassuming fly fisherman who lives in Bull
Shoals, Arkansas. He was born in Rock County, Wisconsin in 1917.
He became interested in fly fishing as a young adult, during
the depression and shared his enthusiasm for the sport with everyone
he contacted. He taught fly fishing and fly tying classes during
the winter in Wisconsin and continued doing so after he moved
to Arkansas. He has written about the sport for publication,
and has compiled a collection of his articles into a book "The
Brunsell Articles."
He was a fly tying panelist at the Federation of Fly Fisher's
Conclave at West Yellowstone in 1981 and participated at the
Great Lakes Council Conclaves until he moved to Arkansas. He
received Wisconsin Trout Unlimited's Golden Net Award in 1984
for his outstanding contribution to the state's cold water fishery
and the Federation of Fly Fisher's Lew Jewett Memorial Award
in 1984 for his contribution to and innovations in fly fishing.
His is the original concept and design of the line of "Li'l
Streamer" rods that we present to you now. In this kind of fishing
the fly should stay wet enough to penetrate the surface film
immediately. Jerking it under or slamming it on the water to
make it sink is bound to put fish down. Once the fly is well
soaked we want to be able to cast it without drying it. Fish
can't reach the fly while it is going back and forth overhead
and false casting dries the fly. After years of being a long
rod fisherman, Bob found that his fishing style had to change.
He tried to shoot line rather than false cast to get it out.
He found that by using oversize guides, the line cast easier
and shot out further with less effort. Guide spacing is key to
this fishing concept. It turned out that moving oversize guides
closer together decreased friction and increased shooting distance
phenomenally. Closer spacing retards line bellying and slap.
And if one chooses to fish on the surface, he can still false
cast when the fly needs drying. And so, with this type of fly
fishing, the emphasis should be on the short back cast.
All of Bob's experience and years of experimenting with guide
size and location paid off. He had a five foot rod that shot
a level five any place he wanted with only eight to ten feet
of line out to load the rod. Horizontal casting, curve casts
and even side arm casts with the rod tip just over the water
are easy. It's no problem to throw a fly into culverts or under
low banks. Back casts stay high without even trying and are short
enough to make working in close quarters fun.
The rod has a cork and rings reel seat or optional conventional
positive locking screw down reel seat, an oversize aluminum oxide
foulproof stripping guide, seven oversize snake guides besides
the tiptop and weighs two ounces.

DReach
Okay, This is no joke. It has new blank layup and construction
principles so that we can use the most indestructable high strain
linear carbon fiber (better known as standard graphite) available. We
still don't believe in high modulus graphite fiber. It's
too brittle. It still doesn't work. So we took plain
old standard carbon fiber and played with its capabilities, minimized
it's flexibility and maximazed it's durability, building a new
generation of carbon fiber blank. You can tell it's a DReach
by the diamonds on the surface. that's part of a new process
that makes this blank strong and smooth. But, we didn't
stop with the blank, This is where we're going to turn
you off......maybe. We've got a lot of guides on this rod. Nineteen
of them. Nineteen RECoil guides by REC. They're the
smoothest, slickest, friction free guides available today. Nineteen,
because we believe that guides don't cause as much friction as
the belly of line laying between the guides. We take away
the majority of the belly and we take away the majority of the
friction. These rods will cast delicately (that's the D),
but will shoot a line as far or farther (are you parking lot
guys listening) than any rod on the market (that's the Reach). From
8 foot 6 inch 3 weight to 9 foot 10 weight.
Please note that although all of our pricing for rods includes
a bag and carry tube, you may purchase any of these items separately.

The GEM Collection
"Graphite rods in pastel color combinations for that special fisher-person."
These rods offer a full flex with parabolic action. Designed for the experienced caster, or the distaff or finesse caster not needing faster rods, it bends through the entire length of the blank and is very forgiving to cast. Featuring downsized grips for smaller hands, the rods are shown in Amethyst with mother of pearl reel seat, Jade with jade wood reel seat and Rose Quartz with cedar heartwood reel seat insert. Each has a matching bag and rod tube. A variety of guide styles are available and the reel seat colors are interchangeable.
Pick a rod model than pick your reel seat and finally pick the guides. All orders without guide or reel seat preference will be built with standard snake guides and Reel Seat as described above.
Please allow 4 to 6 weeks as each rod will be custom built.

Ultra-Weave by Rebrod,
Inc.
We believe Ultra-Weave to be perhaps the greatest advancement backwards in
the past thirty years. By backwards we mean back to rods that performed
better from cast to net. Rebrod has harnessed the power and durability
of carbon fiber weave into a rod that performs remarkably like bamboo with
only one third the weight and a tenth of the cost. The blank loads from
butt to tip and stays loaded throughout the duration of the casting stroke. There
is no guesswork trying to figure out if the rod is loaded or not. And
a fully loaded rod transmits more of the casting energy you put into the rod
to the line you're trying to cast. We'll be the first to admit that the
average fly fisher won't be able to boast to his or her friends that they can
cast this rod like the "parking lot" variety.....But, no matter how far you
can cast, you will do it more accurately than you've ever dreamed you could
and break off fewer fish once you're out there. And for you midge and
nymph casters, your delicate flys will fall naturally. As if this were
all not enough, we believe these to be the lightest, most durable, break and
crush resistant graphite rods ever crafted. Models range from 7 foot
3 weight to 9 foot 10 weight. We even have a 6 foot 9 inch 5 weight. We
don't know why for sure, but the rod worked so well that we left it in the
line hoping someone would find a specific use for it.
Please note that
although all of our pricing for rods includes a bag and
carry tube, you may purchase any of these items separately.
